They are three legged giant robots. Deroys have a main cannon on the body which cannot be destroyed; they also have laser cannons on each leg, and if you get within their range, they can and will stab you with the spear-like tip of their leg which launches you in the air if you are hit. Luckily, you can destroy the leg segments which will disable their ability to deal damage to you with extra firepower or to stab you with the spear-tipped part of their legs. It is also important to note that Deroys are unique because they are one of the only enemies that have body parts that can be destroyed. |

A Deroy (pronounced \diːrɔɪ\) is an enemy encountered in EDF 2025, first appearing in Mission 43: Steel Beast. They are set to reappear in Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair.
Deroys can be very useful when collecting upgrade crates, as every piece of their body destroyed will drop items, and they are continuously spawned in certain levels.
Super Deroys
You will encounter stronger Deroys with lots more health, longer legs, and multiple laser cannons on their legs late in the game. Compared to weaker deroys which only have one laser cannon on each leg, Super Deroys can have up to four laser cannons on each leg, meaning they will have at most a total of twelve cannons on their legs! Compared to Regular Deroys that only have a total of three, Super Deroys will be able to provide four times more the damage than regular Deroys.
Super Deroys are much more deadlier than their weaker variants as they have more firepower and as a result can deal huge amounts of damage very fast, when fighting Deroys it's best to head for the Super Deroys if any are seen first as they are harder to kill and do more damage.
Since Super Deroys have more leg segments, it'd be logical to think that they drop more items. Unfortunately they are not continuously spawned.
